Wolf is the Managing Director of Tawana Resources, a Company he formed with his fellow directors in late 1998. He attained a BSc in geology from UCT in 1968 and a BA in political science and economics from UNISA in 1975.
He has been an active participant in the Australian, Botswanan and South African diamond exploration industry since 1970. He has worked for De Beers and Freeport in senior positions and has directed the activities of Diamond Ventures prior to forming Tawana.

Wolf had a leading role in the discovery of the Bow River alluvial diamond deposit in Western Australia and was the convenor of the AusIMM sub-committee that drafted the JORC code for reporting diamond exploration results.
