Stan Deakin is a geologist who has worked in the diamond industry for 37 years  - mainly in Australia, Angola, Sierra Leone and Canada.   He was the head geologist at the Argyle Diamond Mine, a position he left in 1998 after 17 years service. Since then he has occupied various positions worldwide such as mining manager and operations manager on producing diamond mines in Angola.  He has also worked in a consulting capacity to many companies including          Rio Tinto and BHP.  He is Perth based and is currently involved in diamond projects in Australia, Angola and Guinea-Conakry.
